(Hey Siri!)
          (Alexa!)
          (OK Google!)
I gave you all my secrets
          posted them online
          Completed my profile
          you said it was fine
I wanted you to like me
the way that I liked you
          Thumbs up, a smiling face
          isn’t that what you do?
          You showed me adverts that
          follow me everywhere
You tracked me in my home
          back then I didn’t care
          We had an understanding
at least I thought we had
I’d use all your stuff for free
          you’d show me some ads
          Your cameras on my face
          they’re what I can see
          All over the place
          I’d rather not be
          On your database
          I just wanna be free
          Your A.I. knows my face
          but it doesn’t know me
          Your A.I. knows my face
          but it doesn’t know me
          Your A.I. knows my face
          but it doesn’t know me
Then I learned you sold me
          my data your whore
          Harvested my entire life
          all within the law
          Your privacy settings
          updated once more
          With new confusing options
          for me to ignore
I bought your new smart speaker
          had fun for a time
          Playing my music library
          doing things online
          It hears everything I say
          tells me the weather
          Always on listening device
          stores it forever
          Your cameras on my face
          they’re what I can see
          All over the place
          I’d rather not be
          On your database
          I just wanna be free
          Your A.I. knows my face
          but it doesn’t know me
          Your A.I. knows my face
          but it doesn’t know me
          Your A.I. knows my face
          but it doesn’t know me
          (OK Google!)
          (Hey Siri!)
I let your spy in my home
          convenience is king
          My personal privacy
          doesn’t mean a thing
          Too busy with @mentions
          only having fun
          I wish I’d paid attention
          to see what I’d done

A song that started with a groove on the Synthstrom Deluge. I already had the title noted down and had to make sense of it. This is the first song I’ve recorded that features my vocals, albeit vocoded. The verse vocals are provided by Google WaveNet. I liked the irony of using A.I. generated voices to critique A.I.
Thanks to C. Dadswell for the cover art and to @talltalememory for permission to use the face image.
Synthstrom Deluge, Korg Volca Keys, Roland JU-06, Roland VP-03, PreSonus AudioBox iTwo and Cockos REAPER.
